Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève
In-Contro is the first choreography that Giorgio Mancini created for Isabella Padovani and himself when he was still a dancer at the Grand Théâtre de Genève. This ballet was later performed by the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Lyon in a version for three couples in 1993. In 2004, Giorgio Mancini adapted this duo for four couples for the ballet of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
In this ballet Giorgio Mancini sought to illustrate the coming together of two opposing worlds, the masculine and the feminine, in a choreographic dialogue of continuous attraction and rejection.
In-Contro or quite simply the meeting of two gender.
