Soliloqui a due
Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève
The choreography “Soliloqui a due” by Giorgio Mancini is a duo that considers the sense of anguish in the face of solitude and the desire to find “the other”, the ideal soul.
To strengthen the contrast between being alone and being with another, the choreographer Giorgio Mancini has opted for the harsh music of the young composer Wen de Quing set against the soft and sensual tones of the concerto for lute by the great composer Antonio Vivaldi.
The absence of stage set is deliberate. The play of light sets the scene and strengthens the emotions expressed by the choreography.
Created on the occasion of a tour of China for Isabella Padovani e Sun Xiao Jin, both dancers of the Ballet du Grand Théatre de Genève, this work has been adopted by the Ballet of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and performed in several European countries.
